Montibello Kitchen, Mudroom + Secondary Bath
Painting has begun, starting with the bathrooms. The kitchen is currently undergoing surface preparation to ensure the walls are defect-free and as pristine as possible. The client has selected a paint color, and we expect to have it on the walls by next week. While paint colors are typically chosen at the project's outset, the appearance can vary from our showroom to the client's home. Therefore, we like to apply a test swatch or two to ensure the color is perfect in the space before committing to a full gallon. The lighting has also been installed, with only the sconces near the kitchen window remaining. We are waiting for the quartzite backsplash to be templated and installed before adding those lights.
Foxcroft Attic Build Out
We started sanding and staining the hardwood floors on the first floor, which had been added at different times using a mix of white oak and red oak. In one of the rooms, both types of wood were even combined. We are scheduling a meeting with the homeowner to present various options for moving forward. Additionally, we installed hardwood on the stairs along with new iron balusters, newel posts, and a railing. The client opted for black iron balusters, and we added curved posts intermittently for a unique, industrial aesthetic that looks fantastic!
Mint Hill Basement renovation
With inspections completed successfully, we are all set for drywall installation, which is already well underway. The new room is taking shape, gradually losing its garage-like appearance. The clients received paint samples from Samplize and are testing them in the new space to choose the ideal color for the rooms. We prefer to check the colors in person with larger samples to ensure they look good on all walls. The Samplize sheets are sticky and can be moved from wall to wall, allowing us to see how the color looks in both shadows and light. This method is our go-to for selecting the right paint, avoiding the mess of traditional samples and random swatches on freshly sheetrocked walls.
